Revealing the relationship between microstructures, textures, and mechanical behaviors of cold-rolled Al0.1CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloys

Here we reveal and discuss the relationship among microstructures, textures, mechanical behaviors of Al 0.1 CoCrFeNi high-entropy alloys (HEAs) after cold rolling annealing. The initially coarsen grains display profuse lamellar-structured slip bands upon to 50% reduction with mostly extending vertically direction. Meanwhile, facilitates evolutions Goss ({011} <100>) Brass ({110} <112>) component textures in low stacking fault energy (SFE) HEAs accompanying formation deformation twins. Interestingly, strengthen exhibit novel anisotropies yield strength strain hardening associating more direction lines twins rather than rolling-induced preferred orientations, attributing easier dislocations glide between across them. microstructural characters including dislocation density, lines, are quantitatively evaluated, which demonstrates that dynamic grain refinement contributes much for overall strength, compared increased density. A lower (370 MPa 733 failure) exceptional ductility (~55%) achieved annealed samples random orientations.
